ok so i'm wait for a response from you guys for the fuel pump. so in the meanwhile waiting, I figured I'd change the oil that needs to be in the ranger. I change the oil an figure I'd go up to the pizza shop an get a hoagie in hopes that there would be a respond in the fuel pump thread. well OI get about a block away, an I hear all this hissing from the ranger, WTF
i pull over immediately an see oil spaying out from under the truck, ,, I high tail it home an appaerntly I didnt tighten down the filter. after it stoped spraying I tighten it down, but oil is still spraying when I start it up.... FUCK!, I guess I wasted some money buying the oil since I prolly have to drain it down some to reseal the filter,,,,, hoping thats what the problem is....

Look at your old filter and see if the rubber seal is there or not? Sometimes they stick to the block.

check your old filter, is the rubber gasket missing?

happened to me at like 1 am working on my audi after a hg change, went to do the test fire and i jump out and lean under the car to look for leeks, 3,2,1 WOOOSH the oil/extra coolant mix just started shooting out at me and got my legs and a 4' x 4' section of my garage. geuss it doesnt seal very well with a little rubber spacer

It definitely is what they said. I've experienced it a couple times. It WILL leak like a sieve.
