My new mod 280zx hood duct

I got his this hood duct from my buddy and I thougt it would look good on
the souppy and help cool the turbo and engine. What do you think?

I don't like the louvers behind the vent, I'd personally cut that out and shave the rest into the hood...

I used a combination of dremel cutting wheel and a jig saw to cut it.

I will keep it black until I can find a paint match. The paint is not the original paint. The previous owner tried to match it when he painted but it seems lighter than what came with the factory.

Thanks! Cuttin was easy, it was the measurement that was tough. Make sure you double and triple check you measurement because you can only cut once.

I put one on my original hood and just couldn't live with the way it broke up the lines of the hood, so I got another hood painted it, and put it back to stock.

Didn't have it long enough to say whether it helped cool things down.

Oh it'll help things stay cooler for sure. You did a good job on the fitment, but for some reason I just don't think the louvers look good, the actual vent going in looks great though. Overall, nice job .

It does make a difference. I can see the heat rise from the vent when I'm stop at a intersection. Plus, when I come and and park the car and pop the hood, it doesn't feel as hot as before. It doesn't take as long as before to let the engine cool down. Oh yea, my BOV is super loud now, lol.

if you could take a roller and drop down the area around it to get it to sit more flush it would look better.

Seen one of these flush mounted on both sides of the hood (doesn't do much on the driver's side, but it keeps it even looking) and it looks pretty good...
