Yeah basically, they have these 2 black clip things that hold them in place on the bottom so it sits on the plastic trim then is held up from the bottom.

I assume they would be ok and not have to worry about them falling off? Are they tight?

yeah they're on fairly tight. my brother had his on his car for 2 years with no issues, and that's with heavy highway driving and winters

I had a set on my JZA70 for quite a while before I sold them to someone on the forums here and I never had any issues with them trying to break free at high speeds.
