Right now i'm super pissed. I bought a brand new 2006 scion tc like 3 weeks ago. i love this car and it's a nice DD. so today around 12pm i go to gold's gym for my daily workout. i come out at 1pm and there is a huge fuckin dent in my bumper. this car is a less than a month old.

I call the cops and fill out a report. hopefully this fucker is a member of the gym cause we pull all the records of the people that were there from 11pm to 1pm.

the parking lot does have survalance (Sp) however it doesn't work. :3d_frown: here is the shitty part; i have a 500$ deductible and i might have to pay it. i don't nkow yet, i waiting for the claims department to call me back. i'm going to be super pissed if i have to spend $500 for something i had nothing to do with.

If you have any good advice please let me know, i have never been involved in a hit and run and i want to make good choices and i want my vehilce fixed properly.

here are some pics

Scions have the worst luck, I got a ding from someone in the second week and someone backed into my front bumper 2 weeks after that.

Youll probally have to pay the deductible if they cant find the person, It doesnt look like $500 of damage. It doesnt look like your bumper got pushed over from the hit youll have to take the cover off to tell though. If you do get lucky and find the person you can take them to court and get them jail time for hit and run. If they ran they may not have had insurance so you may have to sue it outta them, good thing your in America.

Bummer man. It looks like a new bumper and paint to me. :( That will be over $500 in my opinion.

I would stake out the parking lot at the same time the following week and see what damaged cars pull in..

That is all I can think of...

I know hit and runs a felony in CA. So if you do catch them and they're dirtbags send'em off to jail.

Good luck finding them hopefully the police will come through for you. Maybe you could sit in the Gym parking lot and wait for a car with burgandy paint on the bumper to show up.

Edit:

tC bumper with buy it now of $109, then paint maybe another 200-300 depending on where you go.

Maybe its just the pic, but it looks to me liek it was a whit car that hit you, and *maybe* it was an SUV since the deepest part of the dent is fairly high on the bumper....

Unless theres a shitload of members at the gym, there couldnt have been *too* many people that came/left in that timeframe....

Hopefully it works otu for ya bro.

Dude that suuuuuuucks. I hate people who can't maneuver a freaking car! I used to keep my sunfire (yeah I know...but it was my DD) in AWESOME shape. One night this woman paying more attention to her phone than driving smashed my rear right quater panel. The next day I had to drive it to school, came out from class and my rear LEFT quater panel was smashed. The first woman who hit me paid for the right side...I unfortunately had to pay for the left side...

But good luck! Hope you find the douche and don't have to pay

YEA, i was a military cop for 7yrs. i do have tons of accident training. judging bythe looks it's either an SUV, or a truck. the impact is high on the bumber and deep.

also the color is either white or a type of silver. tommorow i'm going to start the investigation.

Hit and runs are common practice here in CA.

Im sure youll find the person eventually, Go to some of the spray/autobody shops around town and tell them to call you if a car comes in with burgandy paint on its bumper. Mention a possible reward and Im sure theyll keep an eye out.

my step moms TL got hit. The bad thing is, if the guy denies it and there are not witnesses. YOur shit out of luck im afraid, there would be no evidence placing him and HIS car at the scene other then some paint and minor scratches, especially if there is no damage or the damage is already repaired to his car.

Unfortunately its probably going to end up you paying for it. Its just how hit n runs are.. WIthout witness's actually providing proof that they SAW the PERSON HIT YOUR CAR than its pretty much useless..

Shame the video footage didn't work because that would of been awesome evidence
