my n/a rebuild

about 6 months ago i spun my #5 berring so iam in the process of rebuilding it iam useing as many old parts as possible cause of such a tite budget so heres some pics i took yesterday.


the block after some paint.

my head iam not replacing anything in it just some arp head bolts. its already had a port and polish and some custom colt cams put in about 30k ago

and my new crank in front the old one in the back. its was cheaper to buy a new one then to get the old one reground so.

yeah its needs some lowering bad! i can go offroading in the thing as is sits now lol.

hmm... were i went wanted 165, and the crank kit was 200 and it came with crank, main and rod berrings.

#5 bearing decided to take a spin on you too? Both of my motors had the same problem.

Did you get the block checked out and new bearings put into the block? I noticed the build up at the top of the cylinders and what appears to be rust on the walls. Personally I would get the block checked out because it's always the little things that cause the biggest problems. I read that this build is on a tight budget but go ahead and spend the money on the block. You will not regret it later on. The first and best mod is a complete rebuild.

no offense taken, yes iam getting new berrings for everything and yes that is a bit of rust it sat a little to long out of the hot tank before i got to dry it but that was before the hone it looks better now. thanks for the input.

i get to work on it tomarrow so my goals are to get the oil pump in and oil pan on and head on and would be sweet to get all the timing stuff back on but we shall see.
