I have to run Cam 2 when racing to fight knock but its too expensive to buy it then drive around with it. I had an idea, instead of draining the gas tank and driving around with cam 2 why not use pump gas in my tank and have a little 4 gallon fuel cell perhaps behind my seat or in the trunk area with Cam 2 and its own inline pump then use a Y fitting to splice it into the main line running on the driver side floorboard. I will have a switch and when I hit the switch the cars main fule pump will shut off and then give power to the second inline pump with Cam 2. It would prolly take a few seconds for the line to clear from the pump gas but I think it would be SUPER NEAT and save A L O T of money because I could hit it when I race or whatever only and run on pump gas when driving normal!!!! What do you guys think!!??? :naughty:

I have been thinking about that for a very long time (over a year) but I was thinking about using the switching device from one of the trucks that use dual gas tanks. Mount the cell in the hatch. niiice. but yeah, you'd definately have to hit the switch and then let it run, drive it, rev the shit out of it to get the cam 2 to the injectors and then switch your boost settings or whatever. Good luck

Vishnu has been doing that for the EVOs for a while now. Has a little switch at the front of the car. When you change the ECU program to high boost, it changes from the stock tank to a fuel cell in the trunk with race fuel.

Pretty good way to do it.......

^ I was thinking the same thing, or cutting the spare well out and making the tank sit "flush"

I don't see why something like that wouldn't work

^YES. Alky injection would be mint for this type of situation. Put a 5 gallon tank back there and you could run all kinds of boost for a long time before running out.
Also, it's cheaper.

BTW Folks keep in mind

if you are going to a drag strip that has tech

that fuel tank INSIDE of the cabin is an auto fail. It is in the cabin it MUST have a firewall between it and the main cabin!

okay thanks figgie, I run windshield washer fluid- 50% meth, 50% water. No fire hazzard for me.

ok perhaps I wasn't clear

if it is the LEAST BIT FLAMMABLE (100 proof alcohol IS flamamble. Don't believe me? Light your favorite 80 proof bottle of jack daniels or Wild Turkey) or combustible it MUST be behind a firewall!

That 50/50 mix still MUST be behind a firewall!
