Well, It's official. My clip has been purchased from Jarco...should be here late next week or early two weeks from now. Here is a link from Jarco of the car running in Japan:
http://www.jarcoinc.com/video/061205/JZA70-0006524.wmv

Now I'm compiling a list of the other various extra's I'm gonna need to get and had a few questions;

1) I already have a Koyo Radiator and dual electric fans so won't be using the Hydro-fan. I know I need a water pump and pulley from a 2jz but does it matter if it's from a GTE or GE or for that matter what year Supra it goes with? Same question for all the 2jz parts I'll need (Throttle Cable, Powersteering line, Serpentine Belt).

2) The wiring harness extension. I've gathered that I've got to extend the harness about 18" what I don't know is where...on the ECU side? In the engine compartment or the cabin? I also plan on making a jumper harness to adapt the 7m chassis harness to the 1jz body harness so I could concievably reverse this swap in the future (as if that would ever happen). Is this a good idea or should I just cut and splice the thing and be done w/ it?

3) I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep my A/C or not...part of me says forget about it. But the other part of me says New Mexico + Dark Blue Supra + Leather Seats = Keep the A/C. Is it easy enough to adapt it to work and even w/ a larger FMIC later?

4) I will be converting from an '87 N/A Automatic to a 1JZ 5spd...is there any words of advice you can lend that will make this swap easier? I will be getting ahold of becauseican for the mount adapters. I know I need to source a pedal set from a USDM 5spd. And probably a shift knob as the clips I've seen don't have the JDM one still on them. I will also swap out the 1jz tach into my cluster and maybe boost guage (will this be more than plug and play for either?). Is there anything else you can think of?

I have a MK4 Cable and I don't really like it, doesn't fit all that well. For some people it works perfect though. You will need the MK4 PS line and serpentine belt. As for the water pump, not sure if the GE and GTE are different, but get the GTE as everyone who eliminates their hydro pump uses that one.

For the wiring harness, just extend the portion going into the firewall. Make sure to use shielded wires where appropriate; some have just used regular wire and extended past the shielded portion with no driveability problems. If you are feeling really motivated you could tear the whole harness down and redo the shielded wires in USB. As for the jumper harness to adapt the 1JZ engine to the ma70 chassis harness, that is a good idea.

Keep your A/C. You will have to wire the A/C clutch to work but it's not hard. There is a more in depth discussion about it on SF. But again, keep your A/C.

I can get you the pedal set for the M/T. Just let me know.

Thanx for the reply...I was wondering if anybody was going to help out. I'm just going to go ahead and order all the 2jz parts for the GTE. As far as the shielded wires; are there a lot of them, and what should I look for in a shielded wire as far as when I'm looking at the harness and also when I'm actually purchasing the supplies for the wire harness extension. I've seen the A/C discussion on SF (I was finally able to sign up yesterday actually) and think I can figure it out. As far as the M/T pedals, there just happens to be a 5spd MKIII in one of my local junkyards that I will get the pedals from...I appreciate it though.

P.S. Do you know why some of the MkIV throttle cables work so well and others don't? Does it have to do w/ the routing or something else?

mk4 cable worked for me
ps i would go to a hydralic car shop and have them make one up cost like 40 bucks
wiring harness is about 18" of extension make sure u do 1 wire at a time.
2jz water pump works great
ur going to need a 89+ sub frame or bang the rhd one so the rack to fit perfect. i would go with banging the sub frame it does not do any harm to it.

a/c is easy, just alittle wireing and swaping compressor heads.
water pump i would just leave on and just unplug the hydropump. You only need the 2jz water pump if your goin to use the 2jz fan and clutch setup.

What's this about the subframe? I thought if I bought the motormount adapters from becauseican the thing would go in w/o any problems...am I wrong?

Sub frame is if you have the pre 89 square motor mounts and wanted to swap with a subframe with round motormounts. If you have the bic mounts then you can use the pre 89 subframe =)

Cool...that's what I thought, I got confused. Now, tell me more about shielded wires...how do I know by looking at the wires on the harness which ones are shielded and I just pick up shielded wire from the auto parts store when the time comes to extend the harness?

That would be the ideal thing to do, its not very hard to do with the engine out. I only replaced the 2 knock sensor wires. I only replaced the 2 knock sensors.

if I do USB, I have to replace the entire wire back to it's source correct?

you can use the stock 1j throttle cable its a lil long so you can just make a loop and it will work fine...thats what i did...also for the ac stuff dont swap compressor heads all you need to do is take the old 7m ac lines and the 1j lines that came with your clip and have a shop put the 1j ends on your stock 7m lines...and then everything will be okay...hope that helps.
