My car takes forever to start

I have been having this problem for quite some time, but I havent really done anything about it until now.

Usually after the car has sat for a day, especially when I go to start it up in the morning, it will crank and crank and sputter and slowly start. The rpm's will be around 1500 and slowly goes down to normal. (900ish)

I will have a video up within the next couple hours.

Anyone know what it could be?

Same thing is happening to me, I want to see the video to verify.
I have a new battery installed and charging system is charging perfect. I do have a new fuel filter I haven't installed yet, Should I do it and see.
Oh, one more question. The pulsation damper on the fuel rail has a screw on the top of it that indicates if pressure is in the damper. Could I use this to see if it has pressure bleed off?

Truthfully, I have done almost no engine work myself since I have had the car so finding the fuel filter will probably be a little harder than I though.

The battery I have is an Optima Red Top. Not even a year old.

Quick Q kyle. Does your car want to die when coming to a stop sometimes while the car is still warming up. Like the rpms go to 500-400 then eventually go to 650-800 (normal idle range)

well reason i asked was because i wanted to know if the alternator was doing its job and fully charging it, but like Blackmkiii said its possibly something with your fuel.

Best way to check fuel pressure is with a fuel pressure tester installed at the fuel filter to the line to the rail. If you don't know how to use it right, you shouldn't use it at all. Go to an ASE certified shop and tell them you have trouble starting the car first thing in the morning, and leave it overnight.

If it IS the fuel pump, they are pretty damn easy to replace on the A70 Supra. I did mine pretty quick.

Fuel. Check the filter and pressure.

Verify pressure doesn't bleed off immediately after shutting the engine down. If it does, bad check valve. Bad check valve = fuel pump.

You'd see it on the test gauge.

I just thought of something else. Cold start injector.

If you are not mechanically inclined you should not try to work on the fueling system. Period. Take it to a professional.

fuel pressure gauge. My car bleeds off slowly. I don't think its my fuel pump tho. I think its the fitting on my Fuel Filter due to a bad flare i made.

If the pressure bleeds out at your fuel filter wouldn't you smell it? AKA fuel leak!

That was my first guess. After you get the car running, drive it for a while, shut it off, and then a few minutes later, try to start it again. If it starts right away, it's your cold start injector.

not necessarily...

battery + wiring the the battery will help

the CSI does tend to get really bad though. Toyota in their infinite wisdom put the port from the EGR pointing right at the CSI... Mine was LITERALLY twice the thickness it should be from it's coating of carbon...

This is a complex issue and requires troubleshooting on the car. We can't tell you much of anything over the net without seeing it...
