ok so i just got my car running after a rebuild of the 7mgte, and pulling the motor back out to put a new tranny in... so i get it all runnin and what not. When i put it in D, it moves forward without me on the gas or brake, like normal, but wen i give it gas it barely moves any faster... my boost guage goes up to 5 pounds before i let off cause i dont wanna blow anythin... IDK what it could be, have any of you guys had this problem? Reverse seems normal...

LOL, yeah it's called an Automatic! Get a 5sp. and be (almost) trouble free! My auto just came out today for the 5sp. swap. But for now, what 1J said^^^

Is it slipping?

Pretty easy to tell it would kinda rev up higher then normal and not move very fast.

Does it rev 1st out fine and when it shifts holds the rpm high in second yet is still moving slow?

when you put it in reverse does it do the same thing or does it move like normal? if so your tranny is toast. and before you installed it, did you pull the pan and buy a new filter kit? what did the bottom of the pan look like? also did you flush the cooling lines? autos a very delicate, it dont take much to make them not work.

yes the TC has fluid in it. It felt normal in reverse. Im gunna let it really warm up today, cause its freezin here and i only let it idle for like 5 min before i tried drivin it. It doesnt necessarily feel like its slippin, just something is holdin it back... ? idk im goin to work on it in a lil bit here.

Are you retarded?

Go back to one of the other threads you started and reread my suggestion on bleeding the trans and checking the fluid level....

I suspect at this point you more than likely have destroyed this Trans as well.. :nono:

the friction discs are toast, or the shift selonoids are toast. if it moves fine in reverse then its shot. reverse always has less wear then forwards. time to 5spd it

well i dont have the funds for a 5 speed now, otherwise i wouldnt have even thought of auto... lol and yes 1J i did read the things all of you said, and i did bleed the lines like you said to do. I put some more trany fluid in to and its still the same... this hasnt happened to any of you guys? it seem fine in the first gear, it shifts fine, but its like when i push down on the gas pedal it kinda dies... idk ill explain better a lil later...

so noone has had this happen to them?

Only when the fluid was low, which you said it isn't. I got my ENTIRE 5sp swap (everything on the swap-parts list) for $200. I just had to be patient and look for it. Oh yeah, it is an r154 too, not a w58. If you could run across someone that will sell to you for a similar price, it would be well worth it to get rid of that pesky auto and almost the same money. The for sale section is a great place to start. Good luck!

well also since you said you ripped a motor out and put another in, there is an automatic tranny line that goes over the valvecovers and moves with the gas pedal. Compress the throttle all the way under the hood and adjust the 2 14 mm nuts that hold this line in place until you see a little metal dowel coming out of the orange boot, if thats all ok the tranny=toast

ok so i was reading a post on the forums about tranny problems and found the cygnus page about how to change the ATF fluid.

Now when i got my tranny fluid from the local Parts Hut store, i got some Dex/Merc ATF. now on this page http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=MA&P=12 it says to use ATF Dexron II.

Do you think that would cause the "barely moving" problem i have?
Im just goin every possible thing it could be.
