i know i'm a little late with this thread, but i wasn't sure i was going to keep her.

the car is a 90 turbo targa with the whiteout package. i stole the car 2 winters ago for $600, not knowing if it ran or not. i pushed her out of the garage in the spring and started putting it back together. the previous owner had all the intercooler piping off and the battery mounted in the back seat. i was told that the motor was rebuilt and the rack was new. well, the car started right up and once i heard that inline 6- i decided to keep it. :)
it turns out the car came with a bunch of good stuff. a new rack, drilled and slotted rotors, a spare fender, new optima battery, and a driftmotion rack line. it also had a 5 speed swap. i drove it like this for a year before i did anything to it.
the next spring i added new struts, springs, braided brake lines, and a better bov. i also threw on some 17x9 and 17x10.5 cobra wheels.
fast forward a few months and i swapped out the cobra wheels for some 18" tsw's with nitto nto5's. i installed a greddy profec b boost controller and a bic ddp at this time. i also added polished intercooler piping and a greddy style bov. i picked up some 550's, a lex afm, an afc and a bullseye power bolt on turbo. i just sold the afc and i plan on using the lex/550's and turbo real soon. around this time i had a little engine noise. :( . i thought it was rod knock but i found the crank pulley bolt loose. yay. well, the noise returned, and we determined that it was indeed rod knock.
this brings us to this month. i've been driving the car with the noise for a while now, but the headgasket finally went. i added some kw block sealer just so i could drive it, and surprisingly it works.
now we come to my dilemma. i bought a rebuilt short block from a member here, but found out it wasn't done right. then i bought a rebuilt long block 2 weeks ago, and found some metal in the pan. wtf?!
my plan was to use the new bearings from the short block, and hope the rest of the long block is good. the other option i have is trading my car for a supra that a friend has. this one is a maroon 87 hardtop. it has only 97k on it, and has some goodies..... 17" rims, an older rebuilt motor, very nice original paint, and an hks sports turbo kit. we're trying to come to terms, but if it falls through that's ok too.
anyway here's a pic of my current ride.... and the red one i might get......

oh yeah. just for shits and giggles, i took it to the track last summer..... i ended up going 14.1 at 99. i was a little upset, but the car hit fc in 2nd 3rd and 4th. when it does hold 10lbs, it feels like a low 13second car.
