Ok so I have this autometer oil pressure sending unit that will not thread into the block. I do not have many tools to fix the threads that are messed up on it. As far I know, the block side of things is ok. I need to try a stock sending unit on it to make sure it will thread in. If anyone on here has a spare block and the tools to fix this unit so it will go in that would be awesome. I could ship it to you and paypal some money for the help. Thanks!

Here is a pic of the unit and threads.

you can rent a tap set from most tool rental places. might be cheaper if you only rent the 1, but i think 4 hours in minimum rental charge not sure. but you will need to run a dye over the sender and try to fit it aswell.

How about just getting an adapter -

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?catalog=104&partnum=CP7573&a=FR104-CP7573-737937

The last item listed in the bag of 5 is a (1)1/8 - 28 BSP to 1/8" NPT, probably want to verify that it is the right direction, but I bought this same (or very similar) kit from local NAPA for about $12. I am using a mechanical pressure gauge, but I still converted as the standard compression fitting for the copper line that goes to the gauge is still 1/8NPT...

Good luck with the project!
