i was installing my head today and i can't get the socket to fit.

first: i couldn't fit one of the studs in with the cam on, so i took it off.

now: i cant get a socket to fit between the stud bolt and the head.

has anyone else had this problem? any sugestions? :1zhelp:

You need to get a thin wall 12pt socket. You might have to get a 3/8 drive socket and put a 1/2" adaptor on it.

Thats exactly what you need to do, and you wont have to take the cams off doing it this way either.

slow66: i had to take the cam off just to get the stud to seet in the head. it was on the intake side, second bolt. this is odd because the other side didn't give me any hastle.

When you put your cams back on there's a specific sequence to tighten down the bearing cap bolts ;)
