so started with an 88 7mge auto supra, that got old after about a year so now i am going to a 1jzgte with automatic(for now, one day 5speed)
I got bic mounts and once i figured out what holes they go in, they fit great.
I am having trouble figuring a few things out even after spending hours searching. My 1jz is from a jzz30: rear sump oil pan without TRC and has the 4 row ecu pins. Where is the map sensor for the ECU located? Is it in the manifold? what is it near? I want to make sure it will run when i turn the key, just want to make sure i have this correct. I am going to use an aftermarket boost gauge, eliminating the need for the second map sensor that is normally mounted on the fender. Is that right?
Thanks for the help, im sure ill have more questions as I get closer and closer to starting the engine, but the MAP sensor issue seems to be my first stumbling block. Also some wires were burnt on my harness, the ones for the sensor on the oil pan. If i just cut them, will it still run? I am just using the ma70 dash with no speedo and will modify the tach driver board.
thanks for the help
mike

some progress today, got my power steering line sorted out, still cant find a MAP sensor, i guess i need to order one.
im very excited :D going to get a walbro fuel pump and ebay intercooler and piping kit.
What are the pros/cons of bypassing the fuel dampner if im also switching to a higher volume fuel pump? will it run properly with it bypassed? I am running stock turbos with BPU, the stock NA pump will not be sufficient i suspect.

The map sensor is mounted on the firewall typically. The vacuum line comes off a filter from the manifold. The filter is right next to the idle air controller.

Its been a while but ive made alot more progress.
Figured the wiring out, then it started up first try. Now I have my intercooler mounted and piped and all major things done, all I need now is my MAP sensor to arrive from the slow boat from Japan. I cant wait to drive the thing, much better than my ugly k car.
I have a few small glitches.
1- marker lights and rear tail lights dont work, but all the signals do and so do the headlights.
2- sometimes when i go to start it, it just clicks.. turn the key a bunch more times and it will go for a few more tries then back to clicking. I cleaned all grounds and it didnt seem to help. What is wrong? starter switch? hooked something up wrong maybe?
pics to come soon, maybe a movie

i have a similar problem with my starter. the relay clicks. i just got my car back from the shop and they didnt fix it but they narrowed it down to either the ecu or my alarm system. They said that there is juice going to the starter but once you try to start it, something tells it not to.
