I would like to bring this up and discuss this more. It's very rare to see a ge-t on a 7m unless it was completely swapped. I'm talking about 7m-ge electronics though. This is the route I have decided to take. Simply because it is cost effective compared to an entire swap. Not only that, but most of the parts I will need I already have (GE block and head). I have researched quite a lot, and here's my conclusion. As I stated earlier, I would love to be criticized because I want as much information as I can get.

My goal, Fresh 7m-ge-t. I plan on re-using my engine and harness.
Power goal - 280rwtq 260rwhp. Close to stock boost as RELIABLE as I can get it.

I plan on daily driving this car to work and back, and cruising during the summer. I know this build will take 6-7 months, that's the point. I want to take my time and get it done right. I do not want a drift or drag car. I do not want to beat this car to death street racing (I don't approve street racing anyway)

What to buy from a used Supra -
1. Decent shaped ct26 (in spec, not trimmed to a 60 or 57)
2. Turbo manifold from a stock Supra
3. Intercooler piping and intercooler
4. Oil pump
5. GTE pistons (Lower compression rate)
6. GTE injectors

I want to remove the engine, flip it, and remove the rod bearings, main bearings, replace the oil pump.

I would like to have the crankshaft machined and polished. I believe the engine has rod knock, I do not care as the damage is already done and I'm not satisfied with the engine anyway. So machining will hopefully take care of any oval shaping that has occurred to the crank.

I would like to remove pistons and send the block to the machine shop. Have it hot washed and honed. I would like to replace the bearings and rings to the spec the machine shop specifies.

Now, electrical and other mechanical comes into play. I would like to replace the clutch but leave it with a factory spec clutch (Just replace with a new one) and check for hot spots on flywheel, possibly have it resurfaced.

I'm going to be leaving the transmission. I have service sheets from the PO replacing the pan gasket, and having many fluid flushes and changes. Also the Differential is a 4.xx LSD that has service sheets too. I think it will be more than ready to hold my power goals (280rwtq for you paragraph skippers)

Fuel... I plan on using GTE injectors, and a walbro or stock MkIV fuel pump. My fuel pump is old anyway haha.

Engine head... I plan on having the head shaved to fit the 2.0mm MHG. I want to buy the headgasket set from advanced, and sell the headgasket and use all the other seals. I want to see if the valves are in spec and their clearance is in spec, also replacing the valve seals, and cam seals.

This isn't just an idea. The engine is already out of the car ready to be worked on. Just need a little information. Does anyone have an online service manual I could get the exact specs from (Valve clearances, bearing clearances, tolerances, ect.)

Thanks for reading. Hopefully soon enough I can make this a build thread.

Forgot to mention replacing flywheel bolts, arp studs, ect.

Last I remember ge injectors are high imp and gte are low imp...you'd have to install a resistor iirc...

No arguements...I just kinda feel like you're trying to ask the same question just worded differently and expecting a different answer...what you want to do is indeed doable but more pain than it's worth...which is why I purchased a gte supra after saying fuck it to my NA...

So what would be the easiest way of getting my Supra turbocharged? I don't expect loads of power. :1zhelp:

Buy a shitty gte supra of the same year for cheap....rebuild it's motor....swap everything it has into the ge....done...

I've purchased two gte supras in the past year for under $1000 both of which ran...I see them go on craigslist for cheap all the time.

Then you'd be just like 3/4 of the guys we have had through here over the years I've been a member ;)

So many big plans and unfinished projects.

It takes a special sort of lunatic to complete one of these cars :aigo:

I'm about $800 short of a running gte....$300 of that is sitting in my pocket given that all this work pans out....looking at 1 month maybe till I turn the key...but for now I'm sick of looking at the damn thing lol.

I was in your same boat and almost did the GE-T but changed my mind and when with the GTE, why? Because I know it will hold more power which I plan on throwing at it. Once you taste boost you'll want more then that motor will not hold the slight increments of boost you give and BOOM!

The gte is designed for boost with Oil squiters, return oil in the block rather then the pan, the electronics are made for it, it's just easier to build a gte swap motor and drop it in.

Just my .02 Good luck with your build

as said before, buy a donor car. i did the same swap and bought a donor car for 600 bucks that ran and drove. go full gte swap and save yourself the headache. gte injectors won't work on a ge harness. you will need a resistor pack for the injectors.

Thanks guys! Found a running GTE car locally. I get to pull everything I want for 200$

What should I look for to pull? I know I'm going to need the throttle cable, Gauge cluster, Harness and ECU, engine and mounts (It's the same year as my car), Intercooler and piping, Oil cooler and piping, fuel lines. Anything else?

Get the driveshaft, transmission, engine, electronics, guage cluster, intercooler, strip that engine bay clean.....hell buy the car and have it towed to your house so you can study how everything mounts and take tons of pics!!!!!!

When you pull the engine undo the wire harness from the ecu and pull the harness while it's still attachedto the engine...this way you can reduce the chance of breaking sensor plugs:)

Thanks guys!!!!

Well the Transmission is an auto :( Poop

So I plan on just taking the engine, harness, everything in the bay, the front nose and grill (Mine is bad by the Previous owner being an idiot), Downpipe, mounts, fuel lines, everything I can get my hands on. My car has some bad rust in the rear and drivers door, but nowhere near as bad as this guys!!
