My Supra blew a head gasket a few months ago, right when I got a new job. I was working 80 hrs a week and so I didn't have any time to work on it. Plus I was afraid to take off the head since I've never gone that deep into the engine before. I had only taken off the valve covers to change the valve cover gaskets.
I took the head off last weekend and it was actually very easy. Only took 3 hours. My friend was helping me though so I didn't mess anything up....I hope....lol. That's the only reason why I didn't wanna take off the head. I plan on doing a big build. I considered the 2jz but I think I wanna stick with the 7M. I haven't put much thought into it yet though. I'm taking the head to get ported and polished soon. I'll be getting new cams, valves and valve springs.
Anyways if anyone has tips or anything like that go ahead and let me know. Quite frankly working on my car is just a hobby and I don't know a whole lot about cars so any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. My best friends are helping me get it all built up and stuff. I'm looking for about 750hp. I'd love to get the car to showroom quality so I could get it into a magazine. I never see MKIII Supra's in magazines so that's sort of a goal of mine.
