Quick update for you all -

I recently sourced a 2JZ with auto tranny from a lexus (included wire harness) and plan on dropping it in my car this winter. (minus transmission) AEM is in the mix as well.

I plan on a single with 4" all the way back. This is going to be a beast!

Ill post some pics this weekend when I get the block paint finished.

I already have everything, Im just taking my time putting it together so that it is quality. I already have most of the parts - some (like the turbo) I still need to purchase.

2JZGE with whatever HG I need for 8.5:1
Single Manifold w/BFTurbo
Custom FFI w/q45 TB
AEM EMS and UEGO W/B w/AEM ignition and 2jz coil packs (CPS)
R154 w/os giken twin plate
Monsta Performance hugeass intercooler (better end tanks) and 3" IC pipes
4" Turbo back
800cc PT injectors w/dual walboro pumps and AFPR

Badass. A 700RWHP monster is on it's way!

I have a request, when you crack that oil pan off, tell me if your rod ends have a lot of play in them going front to rear, good bearings or not because my 2JZ-GE block has rods that seem to move more than I'm comfortable with, but the bearings look great. The crank and thrust washers are fine too.

lose the AEM ignition, and get hks DLI, everything else looks good.

what OS giken you going with? cermatalic or carbon?
what size turbo you going with?

and just a HG wont drop you to 8.5.1

please do some more research before you start to prevent another mk3 2j swap that never gets done!

Looks like YOU need to research more! He would never go into your 2JZ-GTE swap thread and say the same thing. Lose the testy questions too. Way to show support.....

I will vouch for him, as well as other members who actually know who they're talking to.

Headgasket info for 2JZ-GE, approximated compression ratios:

.2mm (stock) - 10:1
2mm - 9:1
2.5mm - 8.7:1 (what I'm installing)
3mm - 8.5:1

Boostlogic makes a 3mm, I got my Cometic from HPF, they can custom make any thickness you want.

He will get it done. His 7M was badass until it got the cock knock. Fram oil filters FTL! Push that 2JZ-GE bottom end to the limit!

Jeff, I'm probably going to need to hire you when I get all of my parts together. I know you're about an hour and a half away, but if I have any problems, I'll send the limo out after you...........................lol

Thanks for the support guys - trust me, this will get done.

I have the resources, I have the time, I have the skill.

As far as the AEM ignition goes, I have purchased the latest version of it. I was going to go with the DLI, but the latest version of the AEM (from the experience of others) seems to have solved the problems that the earlier versions were seeing. Plus, I got a good deal on a part-out. If it gives me problems Ill deal with it.

I took the motor apart in order to resurface the deck and clean it up. The pistons were packed with carbon behind the compression and the oil control rings. They are all cleaned up now and will be going back together today.

I need to get out my graduated cylinder and measure the piston cc and deck height so I can pick out my HG. Im not sure exactly how much material was removed from the deck and head....

As far as the OS Giken goes, Im not sure what version I will get. I just want to avoid any high-tension single pressure plates, and the OS seems like the best comprimise between cost and functionality for a multi-plate clutch. Im limited to the 1jz clutches because of my r154 setup.

I havent purchased the turbo yet - but im partial to the GT40 or 35 series. I will more than likely be moving to maryland next year so I want to get this running reasonably quickly. I will probably end up buying a smaller T4 until I get the bugs worked out to go with a big un.

If an OS Giken is what you're wanting, go for it. You can use a single and be fine also. Crank walk isn't a problem if you don't push in the crank during starting, which IMO, should be all the time on a Supra, or any engine. An ACT plate has less pressure than a RPS, but both will still hold 700RWHP with a feramic and stock FW (According to HPF and their in house testing).

If they decked the head, and you want to keep the goal of 8.5:1, you can use a 3.2mm, being .2mm I'm guessing is all that was needed to be taken off the head, and lapped block. But oh yeah I forgot how anal you are ;) Cometic will make any desired thickness.

Any 67mm turbo or larger is what I was looking at for 600RWHP when I first started my MK2 project. The stock 2JZ-GE fuel rail will support 1000HP in dual feed mode too.

Meth injection is strongly recommended.

Right now on SF, Brian Crower is having a good deal on cams. FYI, any 2JZ-GTE intake cam will work, drop in replacement. The exhaust cams are different though, but there is interest to make a regrind (mostly due to the distributor teeth on that cam). The stock N/A Cams have made 700RWHP already, I'd still recommend aftermarket if you're going all out on this engine, or upgrade later.

Get'r done.

Jeff

I know that the opinions on crank walk are mixed - some good/bad in relation to pressure plates. Some have problems with their pressure plates while others never do.

I have to purchase a 1jz flywheel anyway +400 bucks for another clutch. Down goes 600 bucks minimum. I would just rather spend the additional 200-400 for an OS Giken. Besides, I have a buddy in Japan.
