My 2JZ 86.5 Buildup

well the time has come to part with the 7M its been a blast and its taken a beating and i've done my share of BHG repairs :icon_bigg but it is now time to part with it


i will be going with an aristo 2JZ swap and will begin the swap in the next few weeks CAN'T WAIT!!

while the engine is out of the bay i will be repainting the bay, im trying to decided between the Black Onyx color (black with a little redish gold flakes in the paint) or Evo MR Graphite Gray Pearl. i haven't quite decided yet..then i will eventually be getting the whole car painted to match....

tissimo and i will be performing the swap along with his dark green mica DD, so it should be alot of fun and a GREAT learning experience

before the engine is dropped in i will be replacing all seals and gaskets and MAYBE the bearings....haven't quite decided on the bearings yet.

painting the block black and putting it all back together..

i will be sticking with the stock twins for now to see what they are capable of and then moving on to a single.

im a whole $400 away from ordering my engine and i can't wait for the day to come!!!

i will keep you all posted as tissimo and i go thru our swaps and we will have MANY pics i'm sure!!! :naughty:

Are you going to use the Aristo wiring for that and mating it to the MKIII or are you going to run a stand alone?

Reason I ask is I am planning to go 2jz in the future > I have a 1jz atm and want to just buy a long block with intake and and accessories. Throw on a single mani and run it off the 1jz electronics.

Not sure if the 1jz electronics will wourk with a 2jz...It should..]

I hope you post a lot of pictures and build information here when you start the project.

The stock Supra color Black Ruby Pearl has red flakes in it. Paint code is 206 I think.

just put the 2jz bottom end under the 1jz head. i have heard that there is no difference in the heads. 1.5jz FTW. yay, less work.

well tissimo got one with 92K on the dial for 1690 shipped to his door from JHOT

i will be getting one from them as well...

1.5JZ is good but the 2JZ head does flow just a tad bit better some here or on SF has bench flowed them and the 2J came out on top
