I'm in the middle of doing a 2jzgtte swap into a MA70. I've seen people just warp there loom up and shuve it in there glove box and I really dont want to do that if I dont have to. I oviously no also that the 2jz 6 speed ecu is alot bigger then the stock 7m ecu. What do you guys recommend for mounting locations? Pictures work great if you have them also! Thanks for your patience

Well being that I have no heater, A/C etc. I just mounted it right by the exit hole for the wire harness. I will post pictures later!

Thank you sir. I think i'm going to cut the back out of my glove box and since i'm running a greddy emanage ultimate also i'm going to make a rack in the glove box that holds both devices. I'll keep everyone updated were getting closer to having the wiring harness done.

No point in starting a new thread to ask the exact same thing. Lets see if we can get a few more people to answer this time.

Again, for those of you who have done the 2jz swap, where have you mounted the ECU?

I'm now at this stage and know of one person that put it under the passenger side carpet. Has anybody come up with a more elegant solution or is this what pretty much everybody does?

I was going to put it up against the firewall like on the MKIV, but changed my mind after this thread... http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=514936

This was my contribution, after mounting the ECU in the same place as the 7M's...

Sorry for the quality...it was at night and the glovebox was already on, so the angles aren't what I'd normally provide...

As you might be able to tell, the ECU squeezes up REAL tight to the ABS ECU and between the space above the A/C evaporator housingand the headlight retractor module mounted on that reinforcement bar.

You have to pull the bracket towards you (the one that holds the latch hook), then try to push it back, once the ECU is in. You may want to hammer it upwards a bit more than what your pliers may allow. I did not and then had to bend the hook further after assembling everything.

All brackets of the ECU must be removed. Once you install like this, it will NOT move.

+1000 :biglaugh:
I did the same thing. Removed 2 old (7M ecu) brackets. After I pulled the
bracket that holds the latch hook towards....Then the 2jz ecu will fit
almost perfectly.

Right & Left of the hook (with 2 bolts),there are another 2 holes on the
old rusted bracket (pictures shown above). Well, the right hole is for the
bolt that holds the ABS/Skid control ecu. The other one was for the old
7M bracket. USE this hole! Take a bolt and put it through with a nut or
a thick washer ....so when you screw it in to get in touch with the 2jz
ecu for a more stable fit! :biglaugh:

I not only did it this way...BUT I also have a jdm RHD 2jz with the short
wiring harness!!!!!!
People said years ago that it's to short to fit at the 7M's original place...
Guess what...With a little stretch and some smart tricks :biglaugh: it fits
more than ok.
