Ok guys, thanks for everyone patience on my Supra. I am as new as it gets to Supras and I am using the search feature when I can.

I cleaned out the TPS and the ISC valve. Car idles like a champ, something it didn't do well yesterday. Actually it wont idle bellow 1000 rpm. However yesterday it would rev up after a bit of hesitation, and could hold a rev if I held the gas.

Now it wont rev up at all. If I let it idle for about 20 seconds and give it gas it will rev right up and hang there for a second before dropping back down and sputtering. If I continue to hold the throttle it will cough and sputter.

I tried unplugged the AFM to see if that was it, and the car did not die. After a rev it did however. I dont get what changed since yesterday??????

Thanks guys!

Alex

Unfortunatly since I was changing the oil at the same time I did not run the motor beforehand. This would have problem been a huge key. Maybe I should revisit the tps sensor?

Possible. The only code I am getting is an 11 and I want to say that is from the poor idling issues I was having. The motor would almost stall but then recover. When it would stall it would flash the light.

BUMP

After a simple electrical problem the supra is running again.

It runs poorly while cold, but as it gets warm it idles like a champ. I noticed if I unplugged the ISC (front most round sensor in upper manifold) the car's reving habbit does not change.

It wouldn't idle originally but reved fine. Now it idles well but wont rev for more then a second before the revs drop all the way back to idle regardless of the throttle position.

if you're still idling at 1k rpm, there's still something wrong. you should idle at like 650rpm. the ISC is only functional at idle, which would explain why it doesnt affect the car when you blip the throttle. do you have any way to check your fuel pressure? have you checked your codes? use the link in my sig. have you checked for boost leaks?

I was under the impression that the idling situation was caused by cleaning out the throttle body. My mustang would hold an idle really high untill the computer re-adjusted itself after cleaning out all the carbon.

nah, i can unplug my battery overnight, or for 30 seconds, it makes no difference. after the car warms up to operating temp, the idle should be rock solid at 650rpm.

Can anyone give me a good way to set the TPS sensor? Anything simpler then following the TSRM, my Ohms meter is being fruity.
