More Oil Leaks

As of right now I'm just looking for some more suggestions on what to check. I have an oil leak but I'm having trouble locating it. Someone suggested an exhaust cam seal so I haven't gotten to that just yet. The leak only seems to show up when I'm out driving the car, so at idle I can't get anything unless I've driven it around prior to checking.

I put in some of that leak finder that glows under a black light and drove it around to get the leak flowing. Well It seems to be hitting the fan and blowing onto anything in that general area. The collection is very heavy right under the p/s pump, but i am not losing tranny fliud it's all oil, the black light confirmed this. I was going to take the timing cover off to see if there was any oil behind it but as of now I am clueless as to where this leak is coming from.

I am going to do a rebuild in the summer but I'd like to have this problem out of the way for now. How likely is it that a hose or something else is spraying oil into the fan? I did replace the oil cooler lines before that is suggested so I'm still looking for more possibilities. I'll see if I can get a good pic with the florescent light but I don't know if it will show up clear enough.

I had that same problem,Lot of oil spraying out the front/ps side under the cps and hitting the fan, then spraying all under the car. I think it could be from the cps as i replaced the cam seals. Also it may be from the timing cover meets the head as i cant remember if i used sealant when i did the mhg.

Oil pressure is based solely on RPM, so you shouldn't have to be driving to make the leak reveal itself. Have someone hold it at ~3000 RPM and watch to see if you can find out whats going on.

There shouldn't be any pressure in the oil pan so unless you have huge blow by problems and your PCV isn't working it seems unlikely that that it would be shooting out of the oil pan gasket.

Well I'll have the try this after I check the cam seals. I didn't even think about that.
Thanks

You might as well just fix it right once. Have someone rev the engine while you look for leaks.

no need to remove the cams for the cam seals.
Just set cyl1 tdc, loosen off the timing belt
undo the cam pulley bolts and remove, also remove the backing plate
you can undo the 1st cam journals if you want to aid in seal removal

Cool, I'm just trying to make sure I don't warp the cams. I tried leaving them in but they're a little hard so I'll pull off the front and try to get it from there.
Thanks
