Im not for sure what the HP rating is in a 97 MK4 non-turbo but from the looks of it, It cant be too much. Was out that the Track last night and a MK4 showed up. First timer, So about an Hour before the Place shut down he came over and started looking over my car. After a little talk he asked if I wanted to race, What the hell, I didnt Expect to beat a MK4 anyway. We got in line pulled up the the tree, Green light and off we went. Funny thing I noticed is that I pulled off from him at the Start, End of the race was me having a 7 car length win over the MK4.

What are the HP ratings on these cars if anyone Know?

The N/A MKIV is a turd.

The standard 2JZGE is 220 hp @ 5,800 rpm; 210 lb.-ft. @ 4,800 rpm
The VVTI 2JZGE is 225 hp @ 6,000 rpm; 220 lb.-ft. @ 4,000 rpm

Power to weight ratio is very poor on the N/A car.

Weight of my car is right at 2900Lbs. Im pretty close to 400hp if not over that right now. 19psi surely does help ya get down the track quick enough.

I'd agree with the MKIVTT race. Near 400 hp and only 2,900lbs on the MKII will give a MKIV with some mods a close race.

*Edit 4,000hp:aigo: lol good catch Tanya

4,000hp in a mkII would be quite devastating to a lot of cars, including the mkII, lol. :biglaugh:

400 whp in a Mk2 chassis would be dead even with a Mk4 at ~500 whp, and will kick the snot out of pretty much anything you can buy off a lot that is mass produced. :D

assuming the mkII can catch traction at all, lol

Well, I have that Problem some of the time but as soon as the Idiots out at the track put that Stuff down to make there tires Stick, Honda civics and Mustang 4.6Ltrs All Stock, I start to Grip out the Ass. And with 240 Rear Treadwear street Tires It makes it all that Better.

Federal SS595 Tires are great.
