What are the major differences in the TT MKIV and the N/A? Because I am looking at picking up a N/A and I was wondering if motorwork was the only difference? Suspension, lsd, brakes? All else the same?

The N/A manual version came with the 5-speed W58 (just like the MKIII's). The TT manual version got the Getrag 6-speed (which is pretty bullet proof). The gearing ratios are different too. Also, the wheels on the TT are wider in the back (275 IIRC) and 245's up front. The N/A had either 225 or 245's all around.

Wiring harness
Engine
Fuel System
Radiator
Transmission
Rear Diff
Brakes
Wheels/Tires

Conversions are a lot of work, but easier than a 1J swap in a MKIII.

every thing but the body is different, there is no comparison. brakes, lsd, suspention, drivetrain, all different

And the price tag certainly reflects it. You can p/u an n/a for cheap, but it's an arm and a leg for a turbo.

They're selling for more than they were new in some cases.

get an N/A do a GTE swap, and get upgraded brakes like everyone else (or buy the take off that the TT guys have left over from a BBK)

with N/A going for about 15K and TT's going for 25K, you could take the N/A and convert it and still have money left over...

I'm pretty sure it's a more beefed up version than the mkiii w58, but I know for a fact it is a w58. (bah got the edit in, ;))

Vashcloud, I'd honestly just buy a tt mkiv if that's what you really want. Between getting a tt engine(tt internals are more beefy than n/a), switching out brakes, 6spd tranny($2k alone), etc. I'd think you'd be relatively close to the cost of a tt, and that's without labor if you don't plan on doing it yourself and of course all that does take time also. But you would be better off asking on a mkiv specific forum or supraforums as there are people on them with first hand experience.
