mkiv belt dampener?

Does the MKIV belt tensioner shock absorber fit the 1JZGTE if all the correct pieces are purchased?

I am using a 1jz belt tensioner ( the piston/and the wheel ) on my usdm 2jzgte block. It is the same. Same bolts. same location above the crank on the left hand side.
I had to put the piston in a vice and depress it and stick a nail to keep the piston in. Nothing doing by hand...sucker won't budge. lol

So to answer your question, yes,both the 2jzgte and 1jzgte has the same location/mounting points/parts.

Well the 1JZ cross reference says the 2JZ-GE one will work, and that's the same as the 2JZ-GTE auto, so I don't see any reason it wouldn't bolt up to the block.

How is the bottom of the shock mounted?

I thought maybe it just mounted to the lower AC mount. After seeing these pics though it looks like there's an extra bracket.
