We are working on a new feature during this year's Supras Invade Las Vegas Dyno Challenge - the MkIII Dyno Smackdown. We are going to set aside some time to showcase a few of the highest horsepower MkIII Supras before we jump into the MkIV guys. In order to make this new part as great as it possibly can be we will need some help.

We need someone that can find out who is planning to come to Vegas this year with the highest horsepower MkIIIs (Tony Orta is in Vegas already so he is an easy call). Once we have a list of about 2 - 4 lined up you will need to put them into some sort of order and let the SILV Staff know so we can list this information on the website etc.

When in Vegas you will be the point person for those participants. You will need to check them in when they arrive and have them fill out the official registration form. You will also need to get their horsepower/torque numbers and provide them to the SILV staff.

We hope that having someone dedicated to this task will help make it a great success and that we will draw in some GREAT MkIIIs to show off.

The morning session will remain the Dyno Open where anyone can run on a first-come first-served basis and we will have the MkIV Dyno Invitational after the MkIII Smackdown.

Let me know if you are serious about taking on this responsibility.

Granted, i am on the other side of the country, but if you cant find anyone to fill the spot, i would gladly take the responsibility for it.

Most of the work can be done over the Internet - and you know all the big MkIII guys. As long as you are in Vegas for the dyno day I don't think it would be a problem.

The MkIII Dyno Smackdown will be to showcase the top echelon of the MkIIIs. This will be just one piece of the total Dyno Challenge.

We will still have the Dyno Open where anyone can participate - provided it is a Supra of some sort. This session is on a first-come first-served basis. We will run the open session in the morning.

The Smackdown will be after lunch and we will round out the day with the ever climbing horsepower of the 2JZ GTE.

Keith,

How many MKIII's are you lining up for the Smackdown? Any limitations and when will they be chosen?

I am hoping to get at least 4 for the Smackdown. I can almost guarantee that Tony will be in (dropped 824whp last year) and Bryan is doing everything in his power (at least that's the impression that I am getting) to make it out from the East Coast. It sounds like Duane wants to play too. We will be asking for people to sign up in the coming months and we will take the best of the best - 600whp isn't going to cut it any more. :)
