OK here's the problem, i don't have pics, so bear with me......

where to start.... I'll just say whats going on.... my back wheels are waaaay off camber, just the inside of the tires seems to be on the ground, how the hell do I fix this? What are the possible problems........ Anyway, I ran out of parts for my mkIII so I decided to take a look at it, actually DO something........

So here's what I found....

Driver's side:
-The rear... I guess "subframe" (?) bolt, in front of the wheel, moves up, anywhere from 1/4-1/2" when I jack the car up
-The spring is NOT sitting on the control arm straight
-Possible bad control arm bushings (obviously atleast PART of the prob)

Passenger side:
-Deffinite control arm bushing problems
-Spring seems to be in right

So here's what I need to know.....
-Exactly how big of a bitch are these to change?
-I have no sway bar on the car, is that seriously gonna make it worse?
-Would a rear strut tower bar help?
-Is that rear-subfram bushing supposed to move?
-Why the hell am I asking it on SM instead of CS?
-Who wants to buy this POS for.... $600?

patience man, you need patience #1.

I for one, have not ever changed any bushings on any of my 6 mkIIs (which I should have but hey..)

mkIIs are notorious for bad camber from the get-go, even new.

I can't tell you how eay/hard it would be for you to change the bushings and whatnot yourself...all I can say is that afterwards, you WILL need a 4 wheel alignment.
It may just be easier and less frustrating to just get a quote from a shop on bushing replacement and alignment, and be done with it

that sounds like taking the easy way out though.... :icon_conf

It's only been doing this for....... yeah, since I sat the 6m in there and pulled a couple hole-shots..... :biglaugh: (seriously)

Anyway, I just hoped the new springs would do the trick.... this is the price we must pay for kicking so much ass Supra Goddess....

lol, well getting an alignment is not "taking the easy way out". our cars need 4 wheel alignments, which are very difficult to do in your backyard. we tried to do a front wheel alignment on our 1st supra, and that failed miserably.

so as long as your car needs the alignment, just have them do whatever else is needed. it's ok to give yourself a break every once in a while :icon_razz

are the rear springs lowring springs?

also the subframe should not move seperate from the chassis at all...address that problem first

my rear camber (with eibach springs) is nasty... mind you the entire tread pattern is making contact with the road.

check out the rear bushings...and put a sway bar on! using an rear strut tower bar wouldn't help..and if it did..it would likely break something else in the meantime.

The bad thing about giving myself a break..... it'll cost me 10x more... and I am not about that in the least bit.

it'll cost 50x if not your car or your life if you screw it up, not saying you would. But just trying to show all your options. Believe me, I don't hand my car over to shops often, they only go for tires and alignments, but then I've never replaced any suspension components either *shrug*
