It would fit, no doubt about it. It shares the same engine block with the 7M-GTE, fitting the intercooler and piping would be a bit of a challenge, but certainly not hard I don't think.
The rear end is only a 7.5" diff, it's tough, but a high-hp setup may break it, I dunno. Not as tough as the MK3 diff anyways.
The rear end wouldn't bolt into the MK3 very easily, it's almost a direct swap into 82-85 Celica (non-GTS) and 84-87 Corolla RWD cars. I'm going to be running one in my AE86 eventually.
