I don't know if this is "sticky" material or not, but I found a great upgrade over the stock mk3 horns! I was inspired by a guy who swapped over Lexus ES250 horns on his MKIV Supra they sounded great. Believe it or not it made the stock dual tone horns sound out-of-date. I went to the junkyard the other day and found no ES250's but I saw a Lexus SC300/400 That had the dual horns (not the ones that we have stock), It is plug and play although you may have to alter the positioning of the horn a bit on the driver side as it will hit the coolant expansion reservoir. Time it takes is around 15-20 mins max.
Tools needed:
12mm deep socket wrench (no need for extension)
Pliers
WD-40 or some contact cleaner
1. Open up the hood and locate the two factory horns.
2. Remove the coolant tank out of the way to have easier access to the horn.
3. Loosen the two 12mm bolts that hold the horns and then undo the wiring harness.
4. Remove the two bolts and take off the stock horns.
5. Apply WD-40 or contact cleaner to the wiring terminals for good connection
6.Mount the Lexus SC300/400 horns on the car. (these next two steps are important)
>The H (high note) horn will be placed on the passenger side
>The L (low note) horn is to be placed on the driver side
7. Position the two horns so that water cannot get in the horn opening.
8.Tighten down the passenger horn first, the driver side will need adjustment to
prevent hitting the coolant tank
9. When final adjustments have been made, tighten down both bolts.
10. Reinstall the coolant tank and test out your horn.
They look almost factory made for the Supra, they make the mk3 sound way better too in my opinion, try these out for yourself, you'll definitely love the upgrade!
