Has anybody used 5-1/4 inch speakers in the rear shelves on their Supra. Mine seem to be around 4 or so inches and the guy at the audio store swears that 5-1/4's will fit. Do you have to modify the silly black speaker housings to get them in or is there another way.

They're 4.5" stock, I know quite a few people who went with the 5.25"s in the rear, but you would need to modify some stuff to get them to fit. I just went with 4" in the rear and 5.25" up front.

5.25 up front? How did you do that? I think mine are 4 or something like that in front.

I don't pay attention to what forum I'm in all the time or I would have moved it when I posted, heh. Oh well, I moved it now.

I had to custom mount the 5.25" up front. On the 86-88 Supra, there are 4 speakers total, all of which are 4.5".

10 speakers? Hell I only have 4 in mine (and I dont think the back two are even working), so where are the additional speakers placed?
in my 91, i have 6.5" speakers in the door, speakers beside the rear seats and speakers in the hatch area. i have not seen a 10 speaker system so i cant say where the extra speakers are.

The 91's have two speakers mounted in the rear size trim on top next to the rear passengers ears. They are 3.25 inches although the mounting holes are 4 inches so I don't know what the actual size is slated at.
