Congrats to Bucsfanatic59 for getting the COVER of a local car magazine here in the tampa bay area!

Theres a four page spread with a bunch of pics of his car with some hot girl...

the only downside to this article was the fact that it didnt say anything specific about brad or his car...just talked about the mk3 in general...which would be fine except the fact that 3/4ths of this talking was them talking about whats needed for a 1jz swap. which i think is pretty stupid. (not the swap, the fact they spent all this time on it)

anyways congrats brad! and onto the pics!

THE ARTICLE (SINCE IM SO NICE I TYPE IT UP ;) )

COVER: Old School: MK3 Toyotas Forgotten Supra

ARTICLE TITLE: Back To School

In the world of 1986 the import enthusiast market appeared wholly different then it does today, or did it? The market was dominated by three up and coming sports coupes; the Mazda RX-7(FC), Nissan 300ZX(Z31) and the newest addition to the lineup the Toyota Supra(MK3)...

Often it seems with the advent of every successive generation of automobile the immediate predecessor is relegated to the shadows, cast off, and half forgotten by the automotive communities that once embraced it. At first glance such would seem to be the fate of the once venerable MK3 Supra...doomed to reside in the omnipresent shadows cast by its acclaimed progeny the MK4...or does it?

While the MK3 may garner less attention then its flashier successor it certainly has maintained a sustained and respectable following for nearly two decades. This unasailable following has been bolstered in recent years with growing interest in the MK3 as a platform for the high revving turbo 1JZ-GTE powerplant.

While the US market cars, came exclusively equipped with the 7M series engine, the JDM MK3's continued to evolve and were eventually upgraded to the 2.5 liter 1JZ-GTE. This high revving power plant was not confined to just the MK3 however, and would eventually find a home in the Soarer or Lexus SC300/400 as we better know them.

Something to keep in mind before undertaking this engine swap is that all 1JZ's are not identical. There are actually many different variations of this engine and its always the best idea to purchase a complete MK3 front clip to assure you have most of what you need. Just to briefly touch on the swap, one of the key items you will attain through puchasing a complete front clip is an intact ecu and harness....items not easily sourced independently. A word of advice here, if you do decide to purchase just the engine, be prepared to also purchase a standalone management system. If you are interested in a 1JZ there are many resources to be found online and we recommend surfing on over to www.supraforums.com and read through the various MK3 FAQs and posts.

So with so much continued interest in the MK3 and 18 years of consumer support it would seem the relegation to mothballs is still a far off prospect.

HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOYED! Even though the article sucked (grammar and generally lol)
