Actually, the JZA70 driveshaft uses what looks (can't find a part number on mine) identical to a NA mkiv/SC300 center support bearing.. The problem is no one has tested this.

I have also read this before from forums in other countries but did not care at the time, hence the lack of bookmarks.

here's the thread I'm referring to: http://www.supramania.com/forums/sh...t-difference&p=1796141&viewfull=1#post1796141

Another thing to think about is that the JZA70 shaft is noticeably different in regards to the front part of the shaft, so that may play a vital role too.

This thread leads me to believe the carrier bearings are interchangeable (just not the shafts obviously)(sorry for linking to SF, but this is helpful):

There are 2 types of JZA70 shaft, and 2 types of MA70 shaft. They overlap.

In other words, there are MA70's that came with the newer style bearing, and there are JZA70's that came with the older style bearing as well. They overlapped production.

All 86-89's are the old "M Joint" style, 90-93's can either be "M Joint" or "V Joint" for both the JZA70 and MA70.

The part number isn't the same as any other car, but that doesn't mean that an SC/JZA80 bearing wouldn't work, just that it has a different part number. I haven't looked/tried enough to know.
