I was out taking a drive this morning and noticed that someone near me has a Starion Turbo for sale. I stopped and looked it over as best I could it appears to be in good shape, the leather interior isn't all cracked and ripped like my Supras is and the body/paint isn't too bad either. I didn't get to look at the engine compartment as it was early in the morning and no one was home/awake. This car has been for sale for well over a month and its a pretty high traffic area.

Anyone have any experience with these cars?

They are good cars, very stout.....but the parts are just ungodly expensive and rare ( hard to find that is).

I worked at DELL with another guy that was a starion/conquest FREAK....he has been through 4 of them...the last yellow one he had was stolen and picked up 3 states away in florida ( we are in TN).....he had HKS turbo kit, vpc, gcc, F-Con....pushing 400wheel.

The one he drives now leaks fuel somehwere....its scary as it can get...but its fun!

awsome cars though if you can get them going right ( like the mk3).

Thats kinda what I figured with them being so old. I was looking at some exhaust systems and the pricing wasnt too bad. The one Im looking at appears to have an upgraded FMIC. I haven't been able to pop the hood cause everytime I go to the house no one is home. Thanks man.

I too have a 2.6 turbo Starion in my garage, but unfortunately it needs a rebuild; I drove it for about 5 months before I got my Supra, and I really LOVED this car.
however, the 2.6 liter engine is quite old (I think technically it's comparable to the 5M in the MKII Supra, but only has 2 valves per cyl), and has an even bigger stroke than the 7M, so it redlines already at 6.000 rpm.
the stock turbo kicks in pretty soon and pretty hard, though. I can hardly wait to get it rebuilt.

I have a friend who picked up a starion for $1. no kidding. this kid bought one 3 months before he was moving to egypt thinking he was gonna fix it up. well he got as far as taking the whole thing apart and then let it sit in the garage for another two months. so my friend got it from him the day before this guy was to get on the plane, some assembaly required though. it took my friend, another kid, and me about two days to get it up and running. We put in a new (stock)turbo, cleaned out the whole engine, spark plugs and wires. it was a nice car but we had a few problems, maybe a boost leak. We were inexpirianced bad then and probly made a few mistakes. Sold it for 2500 a few days after we got it running. 2499 in profit is not too bad for a for two days work.
