I had posted a week ago about the car losing all power after 3000RPM. I put a 1/2 tank of 93 in it and a bottl eof seafoam. It will now make it up to 4000-4500 (even once at 5K) but starts majorly missing after that range. Once again, at a standstill I can rev it to redline with no problem. I am leaning towards fuel or timing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

yeah dude, start with the basics. An engine needs 3 things to run, gas, spark, and air. Air is usually not the problem so that leaves you with gas and spark. How many miles are on your car? When is the last time you did a complete tune-up to the vehicle? As far as the electrical system is concerned have you done Plugs, wires, and checked all your grounds and for fuel, fuel filter would be the biggest thing, if it was anything else dealing with the fuel system I doubt the car would run at all.

New plugs
New wires
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
fresh oil change
New timing belt and crank timing and ignition timing are on spot.
The basics are covered.

FUZZ420, Would it rev over 5K at a standstill or just while driving? Hopefully the distributor is the problem.

Well damn, i changed the distributor today to no avail. The only thing left is fuel or compression. Guess I'll start testing all that this weekend. Is there anything I can put in the gas to help lube worn out rings? I used to use 2 cycle in my RX-7 to help lube the apex seals.

I would like to make a correction. The combustion triangle is not air/fuel/spark.

It is air/fuel ratio, spark timing, and most important, compression.
