Okay, there is a small hole in my radiator and I have been searching for a good replacement. I have decided to go with the mishimoto radiator and shroud kit but I don't know if it will fit in my car with the current motor, does anyone have a mishimoto radiator in there mk3 with a 1J?

I have the Mishimoto fan shroud, on a PWR radiator. Depending on your location, it may or may not work. It works for me alright in colder climates, but down in Vegas and Phoenix, it does NOT bring enough air through the radiator to keep things comfortably cool for my taste.

However, in my case, I have what may as well be the biggest radiator you can get for a Mk3. It was pointed out to me that yes, increased capacity can help cool things, but if you can't draw enough heat out (through the fans), your giant radiator is essentially a giant heat soak. For all I know, this fan setup may work fine in hotter climates with a *smaller* radiator than the PWR. Seems backwards, I know, but it makes sense to me...

There have been some problems with the mech fan hitting the mishimoto rad but they are currently fixing that issue and i havent heard if there done yet. Im waiting for them to fix that to get mine but even if you order now they offer a 100% free replacement no questions asked so for the price you really cant beat that.

If i was in your situation with a mech fan id still buy it and just go easy until they get the new one out. Some people havnt had problems eithere i guess sometimes hit or miss.

There are alot of people on here with the Mishimoto. I'm all for quality parts, besides these mechanical fan warping at high load and striking the radiator (not applicable to my car and doesn't affect everyone) and maybe some stock upper mount problems? (don't remember, not applicable to my car once again and I think you just have to drill two holes for the top rad mount arms), everyone seems to be nothing but happy with the Mishimoto. I also believe IIRC the Mishi is a bit larger capacity/dimension wise than other radiators on the market, which is a plus. (probably the reason for the size/fan issues also)

When I was researching which rad to buy I went with the Mishi over the two you named, and I strive to only put quality onto my car. Maybe I would've gone PWR if price was of no importance what-so-ever, but even then I'm not sure.

Of the Mishi fan/shroud, I don't know. I would go with proven OEM E-fans off other cars or work with the clutch fan, such as the Ford E-fans everyone uses. That is what I am putting on my car, I think it's off a MarkVIII or something.

The high dollar nice rads are nice, but once its done its done and you have to buy another. Thats where the mishi surpasses everything else cause all you pay is the shipping back and then send you a new one no questions asked for free.
