So my oem rad finally shit out on me so i was thinking about getting the mishimoto rad.
Do the stock top mounts work? I've also heard of people changing the rad cap because the mishi is 1.3 bar. Would you recommend buying a stock rad cap or running the higher pressure cap?

hey...it runs

No idea on the mounts. I don't know enough to give a yes or no on the rad cap, but personally increasing the pressure that much just sounds like it's going to put even more stress on the already delicate head gasket. If you're running metallic id imagine you're fine. Also, are there any pros and cons? I know this probably won't help. But, just my two cents. Figured maybe you hadn't thought about it much.hope this helps

My mishimoto fit like a glove. Fan shroud, stock fan, aux fans, top mounts, bottom mounts, everything.

Do not use their cap. You will put your hoses and unions all under more pressure for basically nothing. Use a stock Toyota one.

All in all, I'm incredibly satisfied with mine. $250 for a great aluminum radiator that fits like stock. Hard to beat, imo.

Not to mention the lifetime warranty which I hear they honor well.

^^ Ok thanks man that's exactly what I was looking for

One thing I did actually have a problem with: the hose inlet and outlets are slightly smaller than stock Toyota. I had to use an extra clamp on mine. If you have new radiator hoses, you might be fine. My hoses are older and needed some extra clamping force. If I recall correctly when I measured, the hose connections were 2mm smaller than Toyota OEM. You can get it to work, but be prepared to need an extra worm gear clamp. :)

I got an extra clamp the day I installed it and haven't had an issue since then. (That was about 8 months ago.)

I have heard of fitment issues with the Mishimotos; however, I ordered one from DriftMotion and it fit perfect. Also, just use the stock cap unless you have replaced all of the hoses already. The Mishimoto cap is higher pressure, which in turn raises the boiling point of your coolant (not necessary at all). The higher pressure on the system can cause coolant leaks on old hoses. The oem cap (13lbs i think?) works perfect.

My Mishimoto fit minus the fan shroud not sitting perfectly flush. I have a small gap between the radiator and shroud due to some welds sticking out for the mounting screws.

So I installed my new mishi today everything went smoothly minus that my fan shroud is old and busted and I am thinking about just ditching the shroud? Also the inlets are smaller and the hoses don't fit just right kind we have the worm clamp on both inlets but still kind of sketch on the idea

All mishimoto rads seem to use slightly small fittings. Use your stock clamp AND a worm gear clamp placed on or just inside the lip of the fittings. Should work just fine. :)
