I have had my eyes on this car for a while now. I am getting tired of having my 2 kids sit on the passenger side of my 2 seater Z. I need a 4 door sedan. This will also be my first brand new purchase. There are tons of options/accessories available that can add up to ~15K to the base 35K. But most are just toys that I may not need.
The AWD IS250 is not bad either but I want the 350. What do you guys think of this car? Anybody know of anyone that owns one and not like it? Any kind of opinions are welcome. Thanks!

The IS350 is a very nice car. It has plenty of power and the interior is comfortable. The only thing I don't like about it is it needs some stiffer sway bars, but that is only when you are driving it sportingly. For everyday driving it is very good. When you need to take it in Lexus service is at the top.

I still prefer the IS300. They're oh-so-nice.
IS350 is nice, but it's not a car that I can see myself driving. It's too nice for me, I guess. lol I'd feel like I should buy some suits or something. lol

They look very nice in black over all the car is nice I've driven one and was happy with it.

I agree with the earlier statment it could use some nice coilovers and sway bars but I belive every car does.

It would be a great DD

smooth looking car and from what i've seen in person its quick. As far as your kids go, yea get the 4 seater, they will be MUCH safer in an accident if they travel in the lexus rather than a 2 seater Z with less inertia than a miata. For your needs, i'd go lexus man.

Then you can swap your 2j into it.

Love the car. I don't think I've ever told my Lexus story here, so I will.

I was talking to my machinist, and the subject of new cars comes up. Keep in mind that he's been in the business forever, inherited the shop from his father in 1962, so there is some serious history here.

He says that the only new car he would consider purchasing is a Lexus. I'm a bit surprised, and ask him to explain. He says that literally everything under the sun has come into his shop to get remanufactured - ancient Caddy V12s with each pair of cylinders in sleeves, modern sports cars right off the showroom floor, industrial diesels, the works.

Except Lexus.

He has never had one show up with a dead engine, and it's not for lack of trying - friends of his own them, some of them purchased the first year they were available in North America, but they are, in every case, still running fine.

Now that's a testimonial.

Get a G35, new lexuses have no soul

QFT. They've lost the plot. Nice, comfy, well built cars, but definitely not super performers. Plus, you can't easily disable the TCS, its like a code you hafta enter w/ pedals and starter. I forget quite how it goes.
BUt it will be more enjoyable to drive than the average sedan and will never let you down.

Personally, I vote Infiniti all the way. IDK about overall longterm mechanical reliability. I just got back from SF Int'l Auto show a few weeks ago, and sat in practically every vehicle there, out of ALL the cars this year Infiniti's had the best fit and finish, lowest panel gaps, most coherent and flowing interior, best materials inside. They NAILED all the details, yeah, the ones I nitpicked Lexus about.
