Metalic Ticking Noise (Engine)

hey there new to the forum so introducing myself as well as asking my first question
im Curtis live in Syd Australia own a Series 1 Cressida only on here for engine info and wat not so howdy everybody

guys my 7M-GE has developed a metalic ticking noise sounds to be top end rather then bottom so im not to sure if its rod knock or not the only input i can give u at this point in time is if u block up the exhaust to see if it has a leak eg hold pressure in the system the noise goes away im thinking it could be valve adjustments but unsure any suggestions on how to isolate certian components would be greatly appreciated

Welcome, video of said ticking?

How many km's, valve lash may need adjusted.

Sometimes you can use a piece of rubber hose to move it around the motor to locate the noise.

Engine has done 170xxxkms im not to sure if the valve lash has been adjusted if not whats the process involved

I believe the noise is coming from top of the engine rather then bottom

sometimes when fuel injectors go bad they can tick pretty loudly
