i was just thinking and was wondering why alot of stock twins upgrade to big single, and is it plausible to even try running a small turbo that spools up fast in sequence with a bigger turbo that spools up later?

anyway just wondering,

the mk4's and many other cars run that system. too my information annyways. running the single im sure is just easier to run big on, but i think it was sound performance that is making a 1000hp+ twin system

most people upgrade to the single because you cannot make "big" power off of them. you're capable of flowing WAY more air with one large turbo, than you are with the two small stockers.

thats sort of what i was wondering, not keeping a "twin" turbo set up but still running dual turbos, say like a small one to spool off the line and as that one gets past its efficiency range having a bigger on that is reaching it's full spool at about the same time the first one runs out of power.

The 2JZ's are sequential so Spool one then the other but to do this with different sized Turbo's is difficult as the gas will follow the path of least resistance ie: through the turbine housing of the bigger Turbo.
(this is assuming there is a balance tube/connection between them both, there has to be)
