^^^^^^ Ahhh the air force propaganda at it's best lol, Nothing replaces a motivated well armed Marine or a few battalions from the Army. Planes are nice till they get shot down, and since when as an aircraft secured anything???? they help but they are NOT the end all be all of war.

A plane can't do much if you can't tell between enemy and civilian and strafing crowds of "innocents" will get the world against you pretty quick, remember russia in afghanistan with it's infamous MI-24 Hind?????

Sorry but I thouroughly disagree with everything about your xbox powered idea!

I agree that when shit hits the fan. Our Air Force won't hesitate to level major towns and cities. We know where our troops are at all times. Let them make all the guns they want.

edit: oh and tell me how many of our planes were shit down over the last 3 decades.

While there have been cases of our planes getting shot down, they are incredibly rare.

We've clearly got air superiority over all other military forces. But planes do not win wars. Troops on the ground do. Planes support them.

But we aren't waging a war in the Middle East. We're engaging in a police action. And as history has shown, armies are rarely successful at police actions.

Most modern warfare is fought in urban environments. In the city, planes are ineffective due to the presence of civilians and the difficulty of avoiding friendly fire and collateral damage. Tanks and other armour are vulnerable because of the opprotunistic angles of attack provided by innumerable buildings and other structures. You can't level the city if there's civilians in it unless you either A) Plan to win the war and kill/conquer everyone who will oppose you. Or B) Like war crime trials.

Nothing will replace a well trained, well equipped and well armed soldier in modern warfare. It's the same reason Blitzkrieg tactics haven't been used since the early years of WWII... mechanized armies are vulnerable to well prepared infantry. Your 12 million dollar tank just got blown to shreds by a $5000 rocket launcher from a guy hiding in a ditch.
