OKay, so i bought my supra for 800$

first things first. Build up the engine, then exterior, then interior
I dont even care about tunes, or tints, or the freshness of the fabric
forget it.

all i want is POWER
and for those other suprafreaks out there...what in heck do you think the supra was made to do?

EAT OTHER MACHINES ALIVE!:naughty:

so, i wanted to start out with where i am now. a supra with rust in the trunk (stupid last owner mistreating my supra) and no head.
i have the head and all the other parts in my garage.

i'll be taking the head to be resurfaced, cleaned, and maybe a valve job, depending on the condition of the valves provided it fails or passes a vacuum test
I also have another head i got for 30 bucks just in case with N/A cams

This is what i hope i can get from this post:
-advice on what i should do and what i should do
-advice on things that i apparently have done wrong (i am learning here people! :p)
-tips/ tricks/ shortcuts/ things-i-cant-cut/ and whatnots that i might want to know (and will thank you generously for)
-SUPPORT. because where else would i expect to find this besides on SUPRAMANIAAAA!!

:biglaugh:

About brakes and suspension...
im going to go pick up a set of B&G springs from a guy up in hayward
he used them for a few months and wanted to switch to some other ones
so im going to take them off his hands

they lower the car about 1.5 inches
and they are also sold on 935motorsports or whatever its called

Remember, when you a rebuilding a monster....do not use the word...MAYBE ...like..Maybe I will get a valve job done...just do it..

Just like Moe said. JUST DO IT!

haha you guys are great

i say maybe a valve job because the stock internals are able to handle quite a bit of power, and why get new stuff if the stuff you got is perfectly fine right?

but dont be fooled! that ct-26 turbo...that wont last long
i'll be scrapping that THE SECOND i get the last paycheck to pay for a brand new gt45 turbo, if not something bigger:evil2:

and i already have powder coated valve covers (how gaudy):sarcasm: + a complete water-to-air intercooler setup :naughty:

this is the point at which the road becomes the drag strip and everything you see through your supra's windshield is a challenge waiting to be tested:icon_bigg

san jose is where its at!

no actually im just going to go out on a limb as say that they possibly live in sj
then again id much rather be in hawaii or something

OHHHH think about that! what if you could cruise your fully built supra with a t-top
coasting the highways of hawaii, along pioipu beach in kawaii

:D

i dropped off my head today at the shop
its gonna get cleaned and resurfaced
the guy checked it and it was barely warped

not bad at all though
so it shouldnt be a problem

I CANT WAIT:icon_bigg

oh btw does anyone know where i can get a metal head gasket with these specs
83mm bore x 1.0mm (or less possibly) thickness for the 7m

i have the stock bore and since im getting a bit taken off from the head
i dont want to exceed the stock gasket thickness
i polished the valves and inside the cylinder caps so that probably took just a bit of potential power

Check Paradise racing - They make or sell the Cometic Gasket and should be able to get one in that or similar configuration.
Cometic Gaskets are excellent.

i checked them out and they have the 84mm bore. i dont think that will be ok for my stock 83mm bore. or will it be fine?

The Turbo is the small % cash wise

Do some research on this the hardware to support the sort of flow's you're shooting for in w2a is HUGE and hard to squeeze into a Mk3.

When you take material off the head/block, you need a thicker gasket to maintain the same compression, not a thinner one.

i know that.. the bore is not correct and a thinner gasket would make for higher compression. depending on my options, that was what i was shooting for.

Bore is always smaller on the gasket so as not to develop hotspots in the chamber...

Higher compression = less boost potential

Also, listen to IJ, he's been there, done that, and done it a few more times for good measure.
