Me VS NEW Challenger SRT8

I was on my way to work today and saw an orange car up front in the express lane. I knew exactly what it was and lined up next to him cruising around 60-65ish. He decides to drop the hammer and tries to take off.... Since i have pretty fast reactions, I put the hammer down too. His cheapshot gave him a good 2-3 cars ahead of me but it wasn't enough and I was able to reel in on him pretty dam fast actually. I was pretty surprised too since my car is currently "fully" untuned and I put a good 3-4 cars on him before he let off.

How much HP do those new Challengers make in stock trim?? I didnt think i would get him that good since they atleast make around 400hp right?

Oh yeah, his girlfriend or female companion was in the car too and i saw her yelling at him.... im sure it wasnt because be lost or anything, probably just because they lost to an old primered car that is missing some trim pieces was probably why she was dissapointed.


heres my mods:

87 Hardtop Turbo
62-1, maft pro, 550cc's, walbro, full 3" exhaust, Stock I/C, less weight (ALMOST fully striped...got 2 racing seats, dashboard, and centerconsole and thats it.)

Man wiseco, i love your turbo-A... wish i lived in Japan sometimes....or atleast in Aust so i can grab a nice turbo-A too. or atleast a twinturboR

The R/T only has about 370 at the crank, the SRT 8 is the more powerful version (425).

are you positive it was the srt 8? if so im impressed... i have been thinking about buying the R/T but still a bit too pricey.

Yeah it was an SRT8 for sure.... i remember looking at the emblem on the rear passenger side. Seriously though, i gota get my ride dyno tuned so i can figure out what numbers imreally making. Any of you guys know any experienced 7m dyno places around charlotte, NC area??

BTW, i just looked up the specs for the srt8's and i thought our cars were heavy pigs lol.... 0-60 Magazine dyno'd one at 352 rwhp so i imagine they can probably hang with some bpu guys.

EDIT: Haha o yeah, i drove past a R/T model today on my way back home from work. It says HEMI on the side fenders. But i was driving my Paseo haha. I drive my Supra only once maybe twice a week to work and my paseo's on its original engine with 230k miles on it...

i saw one at the drag strip once look like it just came for the dealer.... it ran a 9.6 in the 8th, spun pretty bad i'm sure they can do better then that probably just needs a good driver.

Nice kill!! I have killed one SRT8 too with the same mods as you have at 15 psi. How much boost you running??

right now im running 1.3 bar. so whatever that trasnlate to (somewhere around 16 psi). I'm currently still hitting fuel cut too if i toggle around with the maftpro on mainscale. Im hoping to get this sucker dyno-tuned sometime in april. I think the guy had an auto too cause those things don't come in straight drive yet right?

I believe that 1.3 bar will put you around 20 psi lol. Get that thing dyno tuned and you wont have any problems with almost any car out there. I ran against a yellow and black tribal trans am ws6 full bolt ons and 3600 stall. In second gear he would kill me by 3 cars and in 3rd gear I would kill him by 3 cars. I was only running 1bar :naughty: and still managed to dyno 375+ rwhp and over 400+ rwtq but i was lean and had to turn the boost down to 12psi and managed 355 and 375 at the wheels on stock intercooler and 440's.
