is it bad to have vaccum lines to a mbc that are about 4ft in length?

What Ever for? I would think the longer they were, the less effective they may be.

Shorter IS better. That said, you aren't going to see much of a difference between 4ft and 2ft.

the reason i was asking is because i just installed a mbc in the cabin of my car. i didn't notice any difference from being under the hood i just wanted to make sure.

As long as you don't notice any boost spikes or creeping, it's fine.

+1 for doing something about the shift knob. Rip off the rest of the leather at least. I like the way the shift knob is under the leather. That's how mine is.
