ive heard anything over 18 psi can break the ceramic wheels. all depends on how old and abused they are i guess. i think stock ecu will only take 14 or so. which makes anything higher than that usless from pulled timing and bad fuel mix.

i planning to pick up a greddy profec b spec 2 and have boosting at 14 psi, would i need to have it tunned and have the stock injectors replaced?

the tune isnt the problem with those turbos though. you will actually sacrifice the hot side compressor wheel with all of that pressure . ..it will break apart !but yeah the car will run great until then hehe.

They wont run long over 16 psi according to a turbo rebuilder. In addition to the ceramic blades, the thrust bearing is to small for high boost and is prone to failure.

that's what i've been hearing, but i think its still on the safe side to be boosting 14 pounds isn't it?

^custom fabrication is needed. however i think somebody on SF, perf0rmance, i believe, used the hot side from the stock ct12a's and put them together with ct12b compressor housings, shaft, wheels and bearing. apparently it worked, weather it was that simple or a highly complex rebuild process with some machining involved, i dont know, if hes on SM here, he should chime in and let us know if it worked alright or just wasnt worth it.

personally i think HKS twins are a good idea, if you can get them.
