MAP vs. Mas

MAP is restriction free, but requires more computing power and algorythms, which need tweaking to run right.
MAS has the advantage of measuring the mass of air entering the engine, so it's just stoichiometry to get the right amount of fuel delivered. The downside is the sensor can only flow up to 100% of its capacity...

Mass air flow is more accurate. Speed density is calculated , as already noted. Mass air flow, in a land slide, for daily drivers that can run 10's.

Speed density is a good choice in stand alone though, or racing. When known quantities are used and expected, not daily driving in bad weather.

but if temperature and pressure is known, wouldnt the calculations based off that still be correct?

Yep. Most really fast fuelies run speed density. Less restriction. It just doesnt compensate on its own for changes.
