Well i am in the middle of a maft pro install (thanks to simpsons7s and conundrum07; weird they both got 7s in their names haha)
And i have all the wiring done short of my wide band, and now i gotta figure out where i can mount my Map Sensor, and the vacuum source for it.
It is one of the larger vacuum hoses (i am not good with sizing here), same size as the main vacuum on the front of the manifold.
Now i am having problems with where on earth i am going to get vacuum for it. I do not want to drill and tap the manifold, because 1, i do not have the time to take it off, or the want to (i hate doing it hahah). I do not have EGR either, so the little plate is free, so that is one idea.
Anyone have any other ideas?
make them as cost and time effective as possible, because i am a typical mark 3 owner. :biglaugh:

put a vacuum line t fitting on the main vacuum source from the intake manifold and run that to the map sensor. i mounted the map sensor behind the fuse box near the igniter bracket.

Won't the T affect the readings? I was under the assumption that something like this needs a full source for itself.

That's the same place I have mine, too. The only time I can think of where that signal might not be the same as the manifold is when the steering idle up valve is open... I think I can live with it not behaving 100% correctly at super slow speeds in parking lots.

hahaha.... ive never seen these before. luckily i was browsing through parts on ebay, which i never do, and found this rare item. the guys says its a "rare hks vacuum fitting." apparently he was selling some old stuff in his garage.

i wish i knew how to get off the stock fitting. ive used pb blaster and wd40 and nothing is working.

I would t off of the origional map sensor and just run it to where ever you want to mount it. As long as the hose is less then about 3 feet you won't get any pressure/vacume drop. My only other suggestion is don't T off of the BOV vacume line. Good luck.

There isn't an original map sensor, unless you're talking about the boost pressure sensor. ;)
