ok ok, so i have an automatic trans in my 87 turbo but i hate it. I want a 5 speed so bad i can shift it in my sleep. But how do you convert it. On a scale of 1 to 10 tell me what you guys think as far as difficulty in doing it.

The swaps not to hard to do...If you can do a clutch on your own then you should be ok, also you will need to collect quite a few parts. You can find many write ups on the swap if you search on here.

Well I want the 5 speed cuz the other day some vette pulled right next to me at a stop light and just stared at me reving his engine and what not. I figured wut the hell i punched it on green. I took off the line and he had some trouble keeping up. As my transmision began to shift it like stalled and the vette caught up and ran a red light (idiot). point is i had his ass. i need a damn manual. DAMMIT pisses me off.

There is a lot more you could do to your car to make it faster before going to a 5 speed. Just read, read, read on the forums and you'll find tons of stuff.

On the other hand, I'm putting a 5 speed in my car this weekend hopefully :)

been there, done that. not that hard, just get all the pieces esp the engine gearbox bellhousing support. One of them is different to the manual/auto.Hardest part is the pedal installation. I didnt remove the seat so it was more awkward.
