As some of you may know my supra has developed rod knock and I am in the process of fixing the problem. What I plan on doing is swapping out the motor for a fresh NA one (which I just purchased) and turboing it. Ive been doing a large amount of research and I think its quite feasible, plus I like the idea of a high compression turbo motor despite some of its drawbacks. So Im going to buy all the parts I need and put them all on the motor before I swap my other one out. First let me say that I dont want this to become a 7mge-T vs 7mgte thread I just want to get some opinions on a few things. So I have two questions, 1) Ive been looking at various engine stands and most of them are around $110-160, but I found some on ebay that are like 30 or 40 bux so is one better than the other, or will the one on ebay suffice? Here is a link to the auction

I have also compiled a list of the things I plan on purchasing to pull this off and I just wanted some of the pros over here to give it a once over and point out anything that Im missing. I do plan on using the NA electronics, so all the gte's arent necessary here. Ive already got some of the things on the list already, but TIA for the advice.

That stand is fine in my eyes. I'm using one right now, and it's holding the engine fine as I type. Has been for almost half a year now :icon_conf Just make sure you get strong bolts.

You are in Cary. Go to the HarborFreight on capital blvd. I picked up my stand from there for $30 bucks on sale and the Hoist was $180 on sale about 2 years ago now.

Also go to Wilders by wakeforest to pickup the bolts for the stand. better to use longer bolts with a washer then to use short ones and stripping the threads in the block.
