Hello, ive got a 7mgte ive just tore apart and have a few main bearings marked differently then each other. I had a spun bearing on the rods and have to get the crank worked over but would like to order the new mains. The markings on the bearings are a IH in side a circle and part numbers 8j20j and 8j19i. the opposite side of the bearings on the 19i is marked with a bold type 2 and the 20j is marked with a bold type 3. I think i pulled out 3 sets of the 19i and the rest were 20j.

can anyone let me in on what these markings are? i know i can mic them to find out but dont have one yet and will also have my machine shop check these. Im just curios becouse like i said i was going to order mains until i saw these markings. i can wait now for the machinist to check but would like to know ahead of time.

Thank you

Eric

ok i read the tsrm in part and it appears these may be factory bearings standard sized but they may have slight variances designated by 1-5?

this is a little confusing to me as wouldnt standard be standard?

now for ordering new bearings if these are all in good condition can i still just order new standard kings or clevites?

Toyota Select fit bearings have different ID and OD's (look at the chart in the TRSM to figure out what you have) The block will also be stamped on the pan rail.

Clevite/NDC's will ALL have the same OD and only 1 ID per "size" so you can't mix and match to get perfect clearences like Toyota bearings.

You need to take the block/rods to a shop that can accurately measure it and then get bearings that will work, even so you may end up having to linish or even grind the crank as it's at best a 20 year old engine.
