I'm wondering who here has used the MAFT-Pro for its PT tracking functionality. It requires that the stock ECU operate in open-loop at all times (accomplished by cutting the narrowband O2 signal line), and relies on the MAFT-Pro to monitor a wideband signal and manipulate the AFM signal that it generates so that the ECU's open-loop calculation is accurate. To my knowledge, documentation for the somewhat new PT tracking feature is unavailable.
My questions are:
a) How well does this work on the MKIII?
b) Are there any driving conditions that PT tracking does not cover, occasionally leading to inaccurate open-loop guesses?
c) A sum of the above two questions: provided the requirement of a permanent wideband, is this a good idea to do, or is it better to just stick with the stock narrowband configuration?
Thanks for any input. PT tracking seems like a pretty awesome feature that could really improve the feel and tune of the car provided it works well. Especially for highway cruise trips, fuel economy could see a handy boost as well.
