Hey there yall. So i just got my maft pro in and am so excited. Well any way there is a few things i would like to make sure before i start splicing in to my ECU and so on. Well im gonna be running speed density with no wide band.

Firts off there is a purple wire by itself at the end of the speed denisty harness next to the IAT, and map sensors. I belive earlier i red its an auxilary wire. What shall i do with it. LEAVE IT?????

Second the Orange and purple wire on the main MAFT harness i belive have some thing to do with the wide band or O2 sensor. Sense im not running the wideband with it what do i do with them???

Third where are you guys hooking up your MAP sensor Vacuum. I no it goes to the intake mani but are you tapping into another vacuum line or tapping a hole or something into the manifold or something????

I spliced my vacuum/boost signal into the fat line that goes to the power steering pump for the idle up signal.

If you're not using a wideband, leave those wires disconnected... but leave them easy to access, because you really want to buy one and connect it.

Ok cool thanks man. but what about the purple wire by the sensors???

So your saying you hooked up your map sensor to the inlet side of the turbo+power sterring?

this is to monitor Vf. it is a diagnostic voltage so you can see how the ecu is adjusting fuel trim under closed loop. it doesnt have to be hooked up, but might be helpful to know what the ecu is doing.

yes these wires are for the wideband. you dont have to do anything with them. i would suggest getting a plx afr or innovate lc1. they are ~$200 and will connect to the maftpro. that way you can monitor and log a/f.

just be sure it is post throttle body and make sure the sensor is mounted away from heat. it is also a good idea not to mount it on the motor at all. vibrations can effect readings. not sure of your vac setup, but also take care not to hook it into a vsv controlled vac line.

not sure if you have seen this, but may help in hookup.

Well first yea im planning on buying one.

Second..Post throttle body????? i have the vacuum right now hooked up from my MAP sensor to the inlet tube to the turbo and the power steering vacuum by a 3 way valve. Is that not gonna work or does it have to be after the t body in the intake manifold. Also i am gonna disconnect me isc and right by that big vacuum hose there is a little one that goes down by the valve cover and i cant see where it goes. By any chance is that going into the Intake manifold or does it go somewhere else.

O and by the way thanks for the help guys . Im going to go start soldering the wires right now.

yep no boost off the accordian hose..

the power steering line might get boost, but it's so far from the large volume that it may bleed of change slowly,

there's a vac line on the back of the mani i think for the egr, tap that with a T and put the map sensor around that area',

i have my map sensor and boost gauge off the same port.

Huh... so i have to have the map sensor all the way over by my egr or can i bring a vacuum line over from there to the side where my turbo is??

you dont need it near the turbo at all. you can just mount it somewhere on the firewall near the alarm horn or somewhere around the strut tower.

you can even tap it off the vac line from the stock boost sensor (square box that says turbo pressure).

it is ideal if you have the line as short as possible for best readings.

Ok one more thing. well its a little off the topic but when i was pulling stuff out i came acrossed a broken sensor.Well actually the plug broke off the sensor and theres no way to fix it. Ive looked in my manual and cant find which plug it is. I attached a file below shopwing which plug it is. IS IT NEEDED,EXSPENSIVE????? Its the square green plug behind the power steering res. bracket.

yes that is very important. that is the temp sensor that goes to the ecu. you can probably pick one up for cheap from someone parting out a car.

So that sensor will it not run period with out it. I just installed my maft pro today and the car will only idle and thats it. Im not sure if its cause the sensor or the maft pro. Also when the maft pro turned on it said it was version 4.4. Is that the newest one???

Go ahead and plan on a lot of reading. There is a lot of good info on maft pro installs and configurations. I will tell you now, all cars are different so what works for me and my setup may not work for you.. Do a search for maft pro and you will find more than enough info to get you going.. You can get updates on this site.. http://www.fullthrottletech.com/index.php

BTW there is a huge writeup on SF as well..
