Installed my MAF-T today! Its working now and everything. I'm very happy with how easy it was overall to install...now alls I need is to dyno tune it up in Tampa

Tell me that doesnt look straight out of Back to the Future with the wires!!!

Oh yes, and increased throttle responce as well as turbo lag reduced a bit

forgot to tell you over on SF that you should really extend the harness and put the maft in the glove box. I made a little shelf out of wood and put carpet on it and cost me a $4 for the wood and the carpet I had layin around. Check it out.

heat is never good for electronics. I like a clean engine bay so no way was that little black box staying in mine. Plus when I was data logging with my laptop it was nice being able to make changes while on the road driving to see the difference the tuning was doing. good luck

you datalog with a wideband. I was running the Zeitronix that I picked up from 935 motorsports for less than $300. A WB is a must when you start messing with any kind of tunability. Hell you even need one for an SAFC-II, AFPR, etc.. if you want your car to run at its best. I was running too much to list but to keep it simple
-maft
-safc2
-Spearco I.C.
-3 in upper hard pipe w/ Godzilla BOV and 2.25 lower hard pipe
-Aeromotive AFPR
-Stock CT at 13psi with stock hg
-HKS EVC
Bic DDP- Test pipe- Greddy SP catback
I made 307rwhp but the a/f's looked like SH!T

watch them when they tune and let them know you are not after peak performance or they will push it on that thin line. I first hit 293rwhp and then a few weeks later after I felt comfortable with upping the limit I had them get it to 307rwhp, but my supra was not a daily driver. I would get the wideband 1st though because an hour of tuning can cost up to $150 at some places and after 2 hrs you could have bought the wideband and be able to make changes as you add more mods

Well dang, I never looked into getting a wideband setup because I always thought for everything you need it would total up to $1000 or so...now that I know that I can use my A/F gauge that came with my car.

I appreciate this, you've opened my eyes :)

just do some research and you will be happy you did. Get the ZT-2, it is nice and if you have a laptop you dont need anything else cause you can get all the readings you need such as tps, lambada,a/f's, vf reading, boost pressure(requires sensor) and even your egts(with probe). check it out. One of the best purchases I ever made. I will actually be buying another one as soon as I pick up my Miata and get the FM II turbo kit.

Alright, now that this has come to my attention, I'll be picking up the ZT-2 when I can.

However, it may be as long as a year or two before I get my laptop...could I run strictly the wideband setup sepperately without using the entire datalogger setup?

It is possible. You'd need the kit with the LCD screen and have a trusted buddy watch it real close while you drive; I suppose. You'll only be able to display A/F boost, EGT, and one other optional input. IIRC you can wire it to watch the AFM correct?

Wideband is the best tuning tool ever.

That blow through MAFT setup looks great. What kind of power are you seeing, and how quick does it spool up v/s what you were using. (AFM I'm assuming.)

I built my current hard pipes with the 3" GM sensor in mind, but have never bought the MAFT and converted the system over. (And now, with the Greddy Ultimate being able to run based on MAP, might never convert over to the MAFT.)

Just curious about the gains. Especially on the street where spool really matters the most in daily driving.

Has anyone compared pre-turbo vs. post-BoV installation of the MAF-T?

It seems that post-BoV would avoid the pig-rich-on-shift condition when venting to atmosphere. But, that is just my guess.

Yes, this will work fine. Make sure you are using a real BOV instead of the stock bypass valve or the replacement bosch units, however, as they do not play well when vented to atmosphere .
